Colin Walsh Acclaimed as Liberal Party Federal Candidate for Haldimand-Norfolk
Simcoe, Ontario — The Liberal Party is proud to announce that Colin Walsh has been acclaimed as the Federal candidate for Haldimand-Norfolk in the upcoming federal election. This announcement follows a thorough nomination process that ensured every Liberal Party member had the opportunity to put their name forward for consideration.

“I am honored to accept this nomination and to be the voice for our community in Ottawa if elected.” said Walsh. “Local representation is paramount, and I am dedicated to listening to the concerns of Haldimand-Norfolk residents and advocating for our shared priorities.”

As a resident of Simcoe, I have lived and worked for the past 13 years as a French teacher across Norfolk County. I have worked throughout our community from Walsh to Courtland, and LaSalette to Simcoe, where I currently teach  7/8 French Immersion. I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that families in our community face. My family and I are proud to call Haldimand-Norfolk home, and I am committed to ensuring our community’s voice is heard in Parliament.

The nomination process was open to all Liberal Party members, allowing for a fair and transparent selection. After a comprehensive vetting process, Walsh was acclaimed as the candidate when no other individuals registered for nomination, reflecting the confidence of party members in his leadership.

Walsh emphasized the importance of fighting against tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, which have had a significant impact on local industries and economies. “These tariffs have, and will, hurt our farmers, manufacturers, and small businesses,” he stated. “I am committed to standing up for our community and ensuring that we have a fair playing field to compete and thrive. Together, we will advocate for policies that protect our local economy and promote growth.”

As the acclaimed candidate, Walsh is eager to engage with residents of Haldimand-Norfolk through community forums and outreach initiatives. He believes that collaboration and open communication are essential to effectively addressing the issues that matter most to constituents.
